Most people are a little apprehensive about visiting a new church. We hope a few words will help set your mind at ease about visiting our congregation. We want you to feel comfortable.
What happens during Sabbath service?
Our services generally open with a brief welcome from one of the members. The song leader then leads the congregation in a song. An opening prayer is offered, followed by announcements & scripture reading. The song leader leads another two songs, then special music or DVD hymn. Normally a member from our ministry team delivers a sermon from the Bible that lasts approximately 30-40 minutes. A final hymn and prayer conclude the meeting.
What should I do after Church?
Meet people & fellowship. Let someone know that you’re new and ask if they can show you around. We always have coffee & snacks, please make yourself at home.
Do you have a program for children?
We would love for your child to join our children’s church. During the sermon portion of our worship service we offer various Children’s Church services (divided by age) where children ages 2 years - 5th grade can worship and hear Bible lessons tailored especially for their particular age level. We have a wonderful playground your children are sure to love.
Who makes up the church congregation?
We are a diverse congregation that reflects the fact that God's church is for all people. The crowd often ranges in age from newborn babies to those who have seen most of a century pass. We are a church that loves God & loves people.
What do I need to wear?
Some peoples dress casually for worship, while others wear their Sabbath best. God’s house does not have a dress code.
Will I be singled out as a visitor?
No, you will not be asked to stand up or to wear a red ribbon, but you may be greeted and welcomed by any number of our church family. We want you to feel welcomed.
Does your church take an offering?
We do not pass an offering plate during weekly Sabbath services. We have a collection basket at the back of the church, but please don’t feel any obligation to give when you are visiting.
